Fantasy basketball will be scored as a standard H2H Categories format with the following parameters:
PTS REB AST STL BLK 3PM FG% FT% TOs

I did get a suggestion of total freethrows made instead of FT% which we can consider, and we do have the options for some interesting stats added in too (Double Doubles, PER, etc)

I'm not against %, but if I had to throw in my preference, I would go with total FTs. I have no real reasoned response, it's just something I prefer between the two.
On its face, DD/TD seem like they would give a bit too much value to forwards, but I'm open to hearing arguments against that idea from those with experience using those as CATs before. (I've only had it in points leagues where the bonus was modest).

I personally am strongly in favor of categories yeah. I used to play points every year and it really fell out of favor for me, because when making trades and stuff all you had to see was whether one combination of players would be even in point value with another. With categories it feels like I'm really trying to balance what each player brings to the table.

I don't necessarily see that is true because because I'm not trading one star for 4 dirtbags just because their point value is the same

I don't necessarily see that is true because because I'm not trading one star for 4 dirtbags just because their point value is the same but in a 2 for 2 swap for example you're looking at point values instead of weighing what they bring to your team. For example, in a vacuum, Khris Middleton and Rajon Rondo bring about the same amount of "fantasy points per game" to your team, but Rondo scores 12 points per game and is by far the leading assist man in the league, whereas Middleton will shoot worse from the field (you have to take that into account), score more points (17), make more threes, shoot WAY better from the line, rebound and (obviously) pass less. If I'm leading the league in assists I'd be hard pressed to give up Middleton for Rondo but for anyone who's middle of the pack trying to find a player who will pass the ball more it's a good trade. I just find in points it takes less thought to pull the trigger because you look at the players like "okay, he averages 27 fantasy points and my guy averages 24. I'll do it"

I get where you're coming from and I understand what you're saying I don't know about everyone else I'm still not going to look at it and say okay well their point value is the same so its a fair deal you're still saying okay who's younger who's in a better system and who's going to benefit my team more in the long run or short term depending on what are you looking to win now or later but like I said I'm cool with it either way points or categories but I just don't see the points the way you do I guess which is ok everybody's different thanks for listening
