Fantasy hockey will be scored as a H2H Categories format with the following parameters:
Skaters:
G A STP SOG Hits Blocks FOW DEF (Defenseman Points, so any G or A scored by a defenseman will get an extra point for this category)
Goalies:
W GAA SV% Saves
(+/- removed for 2020 and onwards)

This scoring is more flexible. There are some notable emissions here from standard ESPN fantasy, notable ice time and PIMs. I think PIMs are a silly thing to "reward" since clearly they're not exactly a good thing. I conglomerated power play and short handed points into Special Teams Points (STP) because oftentimes you're only getting one or two shorthanded points a week.
I think it's important to reward big hitters and shot blockers, but there are clear leaders to both of those categories that aren't necessarily great NHL players (think Matt Martin (hits) or Kris Russell (blocks)), so instead of drafting one of those guys being the key to winning that category for the week, I conglomerated them into one statistic.
For goalies, shutouts is a little extra that I wouldn't mind removing. The reason I added saves is so that people can't just sit on two starts in goal with their GAA and SV% because someone who starts more goalies will very likely get more saves too. Should I add total goals against too (maybe in place of shutouts)?

I've not played FNHL before, but I'd say your omissions of ice time and PIM make intuitive sense to me. I don't like the idea of rewarding "harmful" plays, and I don't see a whole lot of reason to have ice time. It would be like having offensive snaps as a FFB category. I'll leave the CAT discussion to everyone else, though.
